Your choices in short. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity run for visitors in the United States without a prompt and can be turned off. This includes Clarity session recordings. Everywhere else, and when we cannot tell your region, these services do not run unless you accept. A Global Privacy Control signal from your browser counts as a refusal for these services. Use "Privacy choices" at the bottom of any page to change that choice at any time. Separate Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled on our public site with visitors in the EU excluded, as described below.

Opening a page.

Cloudflare supplies the hosting platform. Requests can involve an IP address, traffic-routing information and other technical traffic data used to deliver and protect the site. We do not switch on additional request logging for this site. Cloudflare describes its own processing in its privacy policy.

Cloudflare visit and performance statistics.

On our public site, Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled to report visits and how quickly pages load. Cloudflare automatically adds a measurement script to pages. Our current setting excludes visitors in the European Union (EU): according to Cloudflare, the script is not added for those visitors. This exclusion applies to Web Analytics, while the hosting requests described above still take place.

This service is separate from Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Our "Privacy choices" control, where available, manages Google and Clarity; it does not switch off Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare describes the service in its Web Analytics overview, its data collection documentation and the EU exclusion setting.

Measuring visits and clicks.

To apply the right rule for Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity in your region, our host tells the page the country of your request and whether your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. We use this only for that decision and do not store it.

When measurement is allowed for your visit, we use Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager to count page views and clicks on retailer links, so we can see which guides help readers. For a page view we record the page address and, in simplified form, where the visit came from (for example Pinterest or a search engine). For a click on a retailer link we record the product and its Amazon number (ASIN), the page and link position, the retailer and our Amazon tracking ID, the page where your visit started, and the source of the visit, including our own internal ID of the pin or board when one is known.

We do not add your name or email address to these events, and we remove other details from page addresses before they are sent. Google advertising features, remarketing and Google Signals are off. Google keeps user- and event-level data for 14 months; its standard aggregated reports can remain available longer.

Session recordings with Microsoft Clarity.

Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used: clicks, scrolling and session recordings, with the page content masked. In the United States it runs together with the measurement above; everywhere else only after you accept. Clarity is not used on the contact page or on any page with a form. Masking reduces, but cannot completely rule out, that something visible on a page is captured. Microsoft keeps recordings for 30 days; after that it keeps a small sample (1% of recordings or 10 a day, whichever is higher) and any recordings we mark as favourites for up to 9 months, and heatmap data for up to 9 months. We do not export individual recordings.

Cookies and storage on your device.

  • Your privacy choice: stored in your browser's local storage on this device for 180 days (about six months), so we do not ask you again on every visit.
  • Visit source: where your current visit started (for example a pin) is kept in session storage for the open browser tab and is removed when you close it.
  • Google Analytics cookies: named with the prefix as_public_ga. When measurement is based on your acceptance, they are set to expire no later than the end of that 180-day choice period; allowing measurement again starts a new period. In the United States, where measurement runs without a saved choice, each is set for no more than 180 days at a time, and the session cookie's expiry can be renewed during later visits.
  • Microsoft Clarity cookies: only when Clarity runs, as described above. Clarity sets _clck (up to one year, renewed on each visit) and _clsk (one day) on this site, and Microsoft domains can set CLID, MUID, ANONCHK, MR and SM; MUID is also used by Microsoft for advertising and operational purposes. Microsoft lists these in its cookie documentation.

Changing your choice.

"Privacy choices" at the bottom of every page shows your current setting for Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity and lets you allow these services, refuse them or turn them off. Turning them off stops Google and Clarity measurement on this site and, if their scripts were running, reloads the page without those scripts. It does not disable Cloudflare Web Analytics. The previous page may send a final request as it closes, and requests already in progress may finish. This does not delete data already collected. Existing Google Analytics cookies may remain on your device but are not used by this site while Google measurement is off. We also tell Clarity to stop using cookies; cookies already set can stay until they expire or you delete them in your browser settings.

Product images from Amazon.

When an available Amazon product image is displayed, your browser requests it directly from Amazon's image service. That request can include your IP address and technical browser information even if you do not click a shopping link. We ask the browser not to send the referring page address with these image requests. This is separate from analytics or purchase tracking.

We do not copy these product images into our own image library or use browser storage to save the product data.

Sending us a message.

The contact form asks for your email address, a topic and your message; your name is optional. When you send it, our site passes the message to Cloudflare's email service, which delivers it to the operator's business mailbox. The website itself does not keep a copy of the message.

To limit repeated or automated submissions, Cloudflare briefly counts form submissions per IP address. A hidden field also helps us recognise automated submissions. We do not use your message for newsletters or advertising.

If you write to info@apocalypsesurvivalist.com directly, Cloudflare forwards your email to the same business mailbox. Your email address, any name you provide, the message content and associated email metadata are processed there.

Why we process this information.

We answer questions, investigate corrections and handle privacy requests on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating the site and responding to people who contact us, or a legal duty where one applies. Where we ask for your permission before using Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, we rely on that permission, and you can withdraw it at any time. In the United States these services run without a prompt, and you can opt out at any time.

How long we keep it.

We keep enquiry information only while it is needed to answer the request, resolve a related issue or meet an applicable legal obligation, and then delete it. We keep our own monthly totals (for example clicks per product, page and source) for our records; these totals do not contain individual visits. Our providers may keep technical records for a limited time under their own policies.

Providers and transfers.

Cloudflare (hosting, Web Analytics, form delivery and email forwarding), Google (analytics), Microsoft (Clarity session recordings), the operator's business email provider and Amazon (product images) may process information to provide their services, including outside Bosnia and Herzegovina, for example in the United States. People authorised to handle the business's enquiries may need access to messages.

Following an Amazon or other external link.

When you follow a retailer link, you leave this site and the destination applies its own data practices. An Amazon affiliate tag identifies our publishing account for referral reporting. It is not a visitor account on this site. We do not process your Amazon order or receive your payment details through the link. Our affiliate disclosure explains how these referral links work.

Your requests and choices.

Depending on the applicable law and circumstances, you may request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, or object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent. Some rights have conditions or exceptions.

Send requests to the email above or through the contact form. We may need enough information to confirm which records relate to you. You can also raise a concern with the Personal Data Protection Agency in Bosnia and Herzegovina, or another competent authority where applicable.

Changes to this notice.

We update this page when the site's services change and show the date of the latest update at the top.
